One of the most exciting classic racers to grace the Orittor circuit in recent years is Exeters Andy Hornby. The 50-year-old, who restores Classic cars and motorcycles for a living, was a late starter to the sport, in fact, this is only his tenth season of racing! Andy has come a long road since his first race, which took place at the Bemsee Racing Club meeting at Brands Hatch, where, after showing great potential by qualifying in second place, Andy went out, and crashed! Since then, Hornby has spread his wings, and competed at many top classic race events; his CV will show!; 2022 Goodwood Members Meeting P1 Cookstown 100 senior Classic P1 Junior P2, Tandragee Junior Classic P3, Chimay 500-1000cc P1 and 350cc P1, Skerries Junior Classic P2, Armoy Senior Classic P1 Junior Classic P3, Bishopscourt Classic Festival P1, Manx GP Senior Classic P14, CRMC Race Of The Year Croft P1. Andy will make his IOM TT debut in June on board thos machine, and for the Classic Manx GP, will be onboard the Black Eagle MV Agusta! List Of Sponsors: Hel Performance Ltd. Speaking to Andy as he prepared to make his way over the channel to the CDE Cookstown 100, Andy had this to say; “Cookstown a great little circuit to kickstart the year, and the promoting club are simply amazing, and they deserve all the support we can give them. They have promoted this event against all adversity in recent years, and after the sad loss of Norman, I am delighted to see it continue to grow. This is only possible thanks to the huge number of people who sacrifice their own precious time to allow us to go racing. A big thanks to all the organisers, marshalls, medics and press for making this happen. Im disappointed that we can't bring the Black Eagle MV Agusta over to Cookstown. The revised calendar didn’t work in their favour. See you at Cookstown.” Andy The 2023 Cookstown 100 has been rebranded, Thanks to a new Sponsor ‘CDE Group’. Thanks to a new Sponsor ‘CDE Group’.
