A podium finisher at the Manx Grand Prix, 52-year-old Dave Matravers, a well-known name on the classic scene will make his Irish road race debut this weekend when he competes in the Centenary KDM Hire Cookstown 100 road races. Dave is looking forward to Cookstown as this will be his first time racing in Ireland as it will be for his mate Terry Sansom. Matravers lives in a little village called Fivehead in Somerset and works as a self-employed Farrier. Now racing for 20+ years, Dave has competed in the Isle of Manx Grand Prix for 12 years and thought it was about time to have a play in Ireland not expecting to do much, He says, it would be nice to be able to see Barry (Davidson) at the end but I doubt it lol Dave will be riding his Dad‘s Manx Norton 500.
