Fellow Racers encourage Telford to KDM Hire Cookstown road races Encouraged by fellow road racers, Richard Telford will make his Irish road race debut, come end f April. The 37 year old coal miner, who began racing back in 2012 at Cadwell Park, has been encouraged to come to Cookstown by Cookstown regulars, Kevin Barsby and Richard Charlton. From Tow Law in County Durham, Richard began racing in moto cross at 16 years of age, before moving into quad racing. In 2012, Telford took to the tarmac, in his second season, he won the Michelin Power Cup Rookies He continued until the middle of the 2014 season. Having taken time out of the port, he returned again in 2018 And last year took part in his first ever road race, the Scarborough Gold Cup meeting, where he duly won the c race . What brings me to the Cookstown 100 event? Lol, The lads I ride with( Ric Charlton and Kev Barsby) told me it's a great little circuit easy to learn and it's proper road race with good craic. I'm really looking forward to it, I can't wait to give it a go and sample the Guinness on the Saturday night. Richard Telford photos coursety ;Stephen Moore Durham dales photography
