Welsh rider returns to KDM Hire Cookstown 100

Popular welsh visitor has a double reason for returning to the KDM Hire Cookstown 100, the 43 year old from Abercynon in South Wales ,not only is he returning to a circuit where he scored his first ever road race win, but also to ride for a local based team! Potchy as he is known in the racing fields, will ride a 400 Yamaha for PK Racing, a Cookstown based team who have taken the Lightweight supersport Short circuit championship for the past two years. Paul, who is the owner of Mot Station and Repair garage called Potchys Mot Station had his First race in 2014 on a BMW s1000rr at his local circuit in Pembrey. Despite doing this for a bit of fun, he won two of his four races,( and finished second n the other two!) so one can understand, he was well and truly hooked! The following season he won two championships, and took the plunge to try racing between the hedges at Tandragee in 2016.His first visit to Cookstown saw him take 4th in the Open B race. Since then he has went on to compete at the UGP, IOM TT, Southern 100 and NW200. Along with his BMW, Paul will ride a 600 Honda for Terry Barber ( Big Thanks Tel!) ,and along with Woolwich based Richie Beacroft, we have a great wee Supertwin, and then Drew and Richard of PK Racing have stepped in with their 400 FZR Yamaha. “ I thoroughly enjoy it here and with the great hospitality its quickly becoming a home from home!
