The 2019 KDM Hire Cookstown 100 road races scheduled for 26th/27th April will have a new look this year. Following discussions with riders and officials, the organizing Club have re positioned the start finish line. The new look start finish area will be just after the Race paddock area. This will make things a lot easier for both riders and officials. Since the event was brought back to the Orrittor circuit, the start/ finish area was ajacadent to the Braeside Bar. Riders were placed in two paddocks, now they will all be in the same paddock. In the past, riders have felt, that , due to the nature of the circuit, that, If a rider was in the lead at Orritor corner, one could assume that that rider would be the winner, however, with the finish line now moved to below the race paddock exit, it gives the chasing riders a chance to make a pass before the line. On Sunday last, the MCUI Roads inspection were out around the circuit, and passed the circuit fit for racing in 2019. And more good news for the riders, the Braeside Corner could well be re surfaced in time for this years event. This corner saw quite a few crashes over the years, and despite being the first fast left hand bend on the circuit, a contributory factor to most of the spills, the deteriorating surface didn’t help matters. Entries are starting to come in for this years event Entries and regulations can be downloaded from the website, www Cookstown100.org
