Skerries rider, Michael Sweeney, will contest the KDM Cookstown 100 on Kawasaki and Yamaha machinery.2014 saw the Skerries rider take Man of the Meeting at quite a few road races, the former Manx grand Prix winner, will again be on board the MJR Kawasaki, Trak Blast Yamaha and Kiely Heating supertwin Kawasaki . Sweeney is disappointed, that there isn’t a 250 race at Cookstown this year, despite this setback, Michael is aiming to become the first ever Southern Centre rider to take Back to Back 250 Irish Road race Championships !
On board John Burrows B.E.Racing Honda, Sweeney last year, became only the third Southern Centre rider to clinch the quarter litre road race championship!. The other two being Conor McGinn and Fran Morrisson!.
Sweeney had a run out last weekend at Bishopscourt, taking top 8 placings in both superbike races.
Sweeney was the IFS National Road Racer of the year at the recent Adelaide Motor Bike Awards ceremony.
