Road Racers dominate Easter Meeting in preparation for the KDM Cookstown 100

With the KDM Hire Cookstown 100 only a few weeks away, some of the would be competitors were in action at the short circuit meetings over the Easter weekend.

Derek Sheils (BikeBitsNI kawasaki), William Dunlop(IC/CD Racing yamaha) and Jamie Hamilton (B.E.Racing) each fired the warning shots, as they  scored wins over their short circuit competitors in two sun drenched Irish Championship meetings at Bishopscourt and Kirkistown.

For Sheils, at Bishopscourt,he won the Enkalon Trophy for the third time,and at Kirkistown, he won the Mayors Trophy.

William Dunlop blotted his copybook when he crashed out when leading on the opening lap of the first 600 race at Kirkistown, but he won the second race, along with a double win at Bishopscourt on saturday.

Jamie Hamilton only contested the Kirkistown meeting,and came away with a double, winning a supertwin race and a superbike race,he also finished second in each of these races .

Stephen Thompson, on the BMW was also a podium finisher at both Bishopscourt and Kirkistown, with his new signing, Sandor Bitter winning both Superbike Cup races at Kirkistown.
